Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading the general accounting functions and ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant securities laws and regulations, including NASDAQ GAAP accounting rules and OTC reporting requirements.

Company Overview:
Client is a small public company based in Plano, Texas, currently in the process of uplisting to NASDAQ. As they continue to grow and expand operations, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join the finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with public companies, expertise in SEC reporting, general accounting, and proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics. A CPA and MBA are highly desired for this role.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting and compliance with SEC regulations.
Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC guidelines.
Collaborate with the CFO to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results to internal and external stakeholders.
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain a strong internal control environment and participate in audits conducted by external auditors.
Provide financial analysis and support to assist in strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.
Oversee the company's financial systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Lead, mentor, and develop a small growing team of accounting professionals.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Proven experience in SEC reporting and compliance, preferably within a publicly traded company.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Dynamics or other similar ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
